Trump's proposal for a deal with TikTok has become known

US President Donald Trump has made an offer for a deal with the TikTok social network, owned by the Chinese company ByteDance. This was reported on March 2 by The Information, citing a source.
"According to Trump's proposal, TikTok America will be approximately 50% owned by new American investors and license the TikTok algorithm from ByteDance," the publication reports.
It clarifies that existing ByteDance investors will have about a third of the shares in the new company, while ByteDance itself will retain 19.9% of the shares.
On January 25, the American leader said he was in talks with several people about buying TikTok and would probably decide on the future of the popular app within the next 30 days. At the same time, shortly before that, NPR radio reported that the White House was negotiating for Oracle and investors to take control of TikTok. Trump's imminent final TikTok proposal was announced on April 2. He set a deadline of April 5 for ByteDance to sell the American segment of the app, otherwise the United States would ban the use of TikTok in the country.
