Lokomotiv won the series with Torpedo 4-0 and advanced to the second round of the playoffs.

Lokomotiv Yaroslavl beat Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod 2-1 and were the first to reach the second round of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) playoffs this season.

The match took place away from Torpedo on Wednesday, April 2.

Lokomotiv won the series to four wins against the Nizhny Novgorod team with a score of 4-0. Thus, Torpedo completed their performance in the Gagarin Cup, Sport-Express clarifies.

The Yaroslavl team scored forwards Alexander Radulov and Richard Panik, who also scored one assist. Vladislav Firstov scored the only goal for the hosts.

Earlier, on March 26, Dinamo Minsk defeated CSKA Moscow in the opening match of the first round of the KHL playoffs. The match went with a score of 5:2. Following the results of the game, Dinamo Minsk became the fourth in the Western Conference standings, while CSKA became the fifth.
