Fraudsters lured almost 60 million rubles from a pensioner in Moscow. This was announced on Wednesday, April 2, by the press service of the Moscow prosecutor's office in its Telegram channel.

According to the agency, the 80-year-old pensioner received a call from unknown people under the pretext of replacing electricity meters. To carry out the procedure, they asked him to dictate the SMS code. After that, another attacker called the man and introduced himself as an employee of Gosuslug. He clarified whether the man transferred 800 thousand rubles. After receiving a negative response, the fraudster connected the Muscovite allegedly with a representative of the bank, writes "Moscow 24". He confirmed the withdrawal of money and told the pensioner that a loan of 19 million rubles had been issued for him.

To return the funds, the man was asked to write a statement. after receiving the money into the pensioner's accounts, they were asked to cash it out urgently and transfer it to the "collector".

So in a few days, the man cashed out 20 million rubles from accounts in different banks, after which he handed them over to the attackers. Then he received a call from a fraudster who introduced himself as a law enforcement officer, after which the pensioner withdrew and handed over more than 21 million rubles to his accomplices, the website reports. kp.ru .

In addition, the man was tricked into selling the SUV and also transferring the money — 4.5 million rubles — to the "collectors". The total amount of damage caused exceeded 58.7 million rubles, according to the Moscow City News Agency.

Earlier on April 2, it was reported that a resident of Moscow sold two apartments for 37 million rubles, jewelry, antique icons and sent money to fraudsters to a "secure account." After that, the scammers stopped contacting, and the woman contacted the police.
