In Azerbaijan, after carrying out control measures, more than 136 tons of meat products imported into the country from Ukraine were found to be of poor quality and unusable. This is stated in the report of the Food Safety Agency on April 2.

It is noted that the staff of the department revealed discrepancies in the samples of meat products from a number of shipments imported into the country. As follows from the report, more than 170 tons of products were found to be of poor quality, of which 136.22 tons came from Ukraine.

"In accordance with the current legislation, a decision has been made to export, destroy or dispose of batches of products outside the customs territory," the agency's website says.

It was also reported on March 20 that the European Commission (EC) may sharply reduce imports of Ukrainian sugar amid the discontent of European Union (EU) producers due to falling product prices. As noted by the Reuters news agency, sugar imports from Ukraine are part of a larger dilemma that the European Union has faced in three years. EU farmers claim that imports from Ukraine have disrupted local supplies, leading to lower prices and difficulties in marketing their own products.
