The United States and Israel may strike Iran to allegedly eliminate the threat posed by its nuclear program. This was reported on April 2 by the British newspaper Daily Mail, citing sources in the Israeli government.

According to the newspaper, the United States and Israel are preparing for a military operation against Iran.

"Threats of military action against Iran's nuclear weapons program have been made before, but now there is clear evidence that this time both the United States and Israel intend to do more than just rattle weapons," the article says.

Earlier, on April 1, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said that military intervention in the country by the United States would not be able to help resolve the issue of the nuclear deal. According to him, the previous failed US operations in the region, for which more than $7 trillion was spent, "are sufficient proof" of this.

Prior to that, on February 25, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that there was a resource for diplomacy on Iran's nuclear program. Araqchi, in turn, said that at the moment there is no dialogue with the United States on the nuclear deal. According to the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, Tehran will continue its relations with Beijing and Moscow on this issue.
