Two people died in a fire due to an unopened cigarette in Primorye.

In the Chernigov district of Primorsky Krai, a man and a woman died as a result of a fire caused by carelessness while smoking. This is reported by the regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.

The fire occurred on the night of April 2 in the apartment of one of the houses in the urban-type settlement of Sibirtsevo. During the extinguishing, rescuers found the bodies of a 46-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman, they were near the front door, IA PrimaMedia clarifies.

"The investigators of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations have established that the fire was on the sofa in the room. The cause of the fire was carelessness while smoking," the agency said in a statement.

In mid-March, a fire broke out in a monument-making workshop in the city of Partizansk, Primorsky Krai. As a result, a 55-year-old man died, the preliminary cause of the fire is also carelessness when smoking.
