Toyota has submitted 33 trademark registration applications in Russia, which were published in the Rospatent database on April 2. Among the applications there are trademarks with the names of Toyota Prius, C-HR, Venza, Auris, GT86, Supra and others models.

Trademarks are registered according to the 12th class of the International Classification of Goods and Services (ICTS), which includes cars, as well as spare parts and accessories for them.

As auto expert Igor Morzharetto explained to TASS, the filing of applications does not indicate that the company is preparing to return to the Russian market. This is an attempt to "stake out" their trademarks for a certain perspective, he noted.

So, on March 13, Izvestia noticed that Jaguar Land Rover had applied for trademark registration in Russia. She decided to register the name Jaguar Type 00, which is the name of the electric concept car, which Jaguar introduced after a scandalous image change at the end of last year.

Earlier, on March 3, Kia extended the registration period for a number of trademarks in Russia. Kia Ceed and Kia Rio X have appeared in the list of registered trademarks. Applications for them were submitted to Rospatent at the end of July 2024, they were registered and published in the database on March 3, 2025.
