The Investigative Committee opened a case on the death of three people in a fire in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

A criminal case has been opened in the Krasnoyarsk Territory over the deaths of two adults and a 12-year-old child in a fire. The GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region and the Republic of Khakassia reports this in its Telegram channel.

The fire occurred early in the morning on April 2 on Oktyabrskaya Street in the city of Zaozerny. The investigation has previously established that his brother and his 12-year-old nephew came to visit the owner of the house the night before. The men were drinking alcoholic beverages.

"The main version of the fire is careless handling of fire sources while smoking," the Investigative Committee said in a statement.

A criminal case has been opened under Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Causing death by negligence to three persons." An investigation is underway, and all the circumstances of the tragedy, including the exact cause of the fire, are being established.
