Florarium— a decorative mini-garden in glass, became the leader among indoor plants in terms of turnover in 2024 and in the first quarter of 2025, the Flowwow flower and gift marketplace calculated, and Izvestia reviewed the results. On average, in March of this year, it cost 5.2 thousand rubles.

"Florariums are attracted by their unusual shape: they look like a miniature living area. Besides, it's an unpretentious gift.: as a rule, succulents grow there, which do not need to be watered often, so they are suitable for those who think about indoor plants once every two weeks," said Aivaz Miriev, manager of the Indoor Plants category at Flowwow.

Next in popularity are potted flowers (the average check is 3.1 thousand rubles) and orchids (4.3 thousand rubles). Despite the fact that Russians spent more on florariums in monetary terms, it is potted flowers that are in the lead in terms of the number of purchases.

In addition, succulents (an average of 2.2 thousand per piece), palm trees (an average of 3.6 thousand rubles), as well as bonsai (6.3 thousand rubles) are in demand.

Most of all, houseplants are spent from February 14 to March 8 — this is an alternative to bouquets for the holidays. The main trend this season is primroses, for example, compositions of hyacinths and daffodils.

In December, the popularity of bonsai trees and large trees increases, but there is no significant increase in sales of orchids in honor of the New Year. The opposite trend is observed on Mother's Day (celebrated on the last Sunday of November), when flowering plants are preferred: orchids, potted flowers, roses and azaleas.

"Florariums remain the leaders this month, but they do not show a significant increase in turnover. This may indicate that mothers prefer to give more classic versions of indoor plants," the expert noted.

Earlier, on March 22, it was reported that Russians became more interested in home-grown seedlings. So, many people choose mini-varieties of vegetables — gherkins and cherries. This provokes an increase in demand for specialized goods, which increased by 4.7% compared to 2024. This was told in the Lemana PRO network of stores for repair, construction and home improvement.
