Rajkevich spoke about the expansion of the ERA-GLONASS functionality

The ERA-GLONASS state information system is ready to monitor not only UAVs, but also other unmanned vehicles, including trucks. This was stated by Alexey Raikevich, CEO of the company, during a visit to the company by Roman Starovoit, Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GLONASS JSC, who got acquainted with the work of the team and developments in the field of communications and navigation. This is reported in the official Telegram channel of GLONASS JSC.
"The other day, the system was used to track online the first inter-regional flight of a drone from Sakhalin to the Khabarovsk Territory. The service has previously been used on other types of transport: more than 380,000 units of public transport, forestry equipment and carriers of dangerous goods are connected to the platform," said Alexey Raikevich.
He also pointed out that the total distance covered by the ERA-GLONASS-equipped small and sanitary aircraft, air drones is equal to the distance from the Earth to the Moon (400 thousand km).
Roman Starovoit stressed that the company fulfills a number of government tasks, including the development of the world's first ERA-GLONASS transport emergency warning system.
"The strategy of GLONASS JSC should be a continuation of the mission of the Russian Ministry of Transport — to create the world's most efficient transport system to improve the quality of life of Russians. 12.5 million vehicles connected to ERA-GLONASS, 460,000 emergency calls from motorists in case of accidents indicate the importance of the main social function of the system," Roman Starovoit said.
According to the minister, the company's projects form Russia's technological sovereignty in the field of communications and navigation, and these competencies should be directed towards the transition from a single-product company to a technological leader at the Russian and global levels. Today, on the basis of ERA-GLONASS, together with the Russian Ministry of Transport, a unified identification system for civilian unmanned aircraft is being tested, which, as part of the instructions of the head of state, is designed to open the skies to drones in the interests of developing the Russian economy.
