- MP Kharchenko called for 20% of the cost of vouchers for children to be returned to parents

It is necessary to return 20% of the cost of vouchers for children to parents. This was announced on April 2 by Ekaterina Kharchenko, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education.
"The funds allocated within the budget for 2025-2027 are insufficient. It is necessary to return 20% cashback for parents who pay for travel packages for children and start restoring infrastructure in the regions," she said following a meeting of the State Duma Committee on Family Protection.
She also called the situation in the country with summer holidays and children's health improvement unsatisfactory. The DEPUTY noted that the vast majority of summer camps in Russia (83%) are day-school camps, where children stay for about four hours.
Kharchenko said that the topic of recreation and recreation for children is difficult, and noted that it has been repeatedly raised in the State Duma. She clarified that currently there are 28 million children in the Russian Federation, among them only 5.7 million used recreation and recreation services in 2024. The direction itself is coordinated by 13 line ministries.
According to the deputy, it is planned to create an interdepartmental working group on summer recreation and health improvement of children and youth in the near future. She also noted the beginning of work on the creation of a law on children's recreation and recreation, which should be adopted before the completion of the work of the eighth convocation of the State Duma.
Kharchenko stressed that in total, more than 2.2 thousand stationary camps operate in Russian regions, while 23 billion rubles are needed to provide access to children with disabilities.
On March 6, Marina Protsepova, Deputy General Director for Sales, shared with Izvestia that the utilization of the Diluch sanatorium in Anapa for the summer is now only 20%, although a year earlier during this period it was 60-70%. She stressed that support measures are currently required to maintain the sanatorium's employment.
