Cosmetologist gave tips on choosing cosmetics after 30 years

With age, the skin's ability to produce elastin and collagen, which are responsible for its youth and elasticity, decreases, so after 30 years it is necessary to start proper facial care. Natalia Tkachenko, a cosmetologist chemist and founder of the beauty brand Roz Mary, told Izvestia on April 2 what products to use to prolong the youth of the skin.
The specialist noted that harmful environmental factors contribute to premature aging, and with age, pigmented spots can form on the skin, which visually indicate how old a person is. There are several ways to deal with them. One of these is the exfoliation of skin cells that are "clogged" with pigment. It can be done with the help of home surface peels or contact a cosmetologist who will do a median peeling.
Also, the activity of the sebaceous glands decreases with age, which leads to dry skin and the formation of wrinkles. In order for the skin to stay young and elastic longer, you need to use products that contain retinol, the expert advises.
"Retinol is a substance that is a fat—soluble vitamin A and an antioxidant. It stimulates collagen synthesis, increases skin density, exfoliates excess keratinized scales, giving it a smooth and radiant appearance. Retinol also fights pigmentation. Retinol care cosmetics will shrink the pores on your face, after applying it, your skin will become smoother, its tone and relief will improve," Tkachenko said.
Finally, an indispensable assistant in the fight for young, elastic and toned skin is facial massage. It enhances blood circulation and also stimulates collagen synthesis. Anti-aging massages are divided into lymphatic drainage, myofascial, classical, buccal and Gouache massages, the specialist concluded.
On March 20, Alexandra Pashkova, a dermatologist at the Semeynaya clinic network, noted in a conversation with Izvestia that the skin faces new challenges with the onset of spring: temperature fluctuations, increased solar activity, and vitamin deficiency after winter. The specialist reported on the importance of hydration this season, as after winter, the skin is often dehydrated due to prolonged exposure to low temperatures and dry indoor air. To maintain the water balance, Pashkova advised using products with hyaluronic acid.
