Zakharova called Britain's measures to counter Russia's influence madness

On April 2, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova criticized the decision of the British authorities to include Russia in the registration system of foreign influence.
The diplomat drew attention to Britain's intention to introduce an enhanced control regime against Russia as part of the future Foreign Influence Registration Scheme (FIRS). As Zakharova pointed out, in this case, any person carrying out any activity in Britain related to state and government Russian structures will have to register in a special register. Otherwise, he faces up to five years in prison. According to her, the new rules are truly insane.
"The intellectual disability that has afflicted the ruling class of Albion has reached its apogee. The heirs of the great British representatives of past eras, soldiers and veterans of World War II who fought against Nazism, are now digging in the dirt, hysterically looking for connections with Russia," Zakharova wrote on her Telegram channel.
Zakharova addressed a number of questions to the British side. In particular, she asked whether British World War II veterans who received Ushakov medals and Victory Jubilee medals for their participation in the Arctic convoys would be forced to register as Russian agents.
On March 17, Zakharova linked Britain's desire to steal Russian assets with a craving for piracy. She noted that such behavior by the authorities of a European state can be called "immoral morality."
Later, on March 19, Zakharova stressed that discussing the confiscation of Russian assets by the UK and the European Union was insanity.
