Popular tourist destinations for the May holidays are named
51% of single tourists will go abroad for the May holidays. Istanbul turned out to be the most popular destination. On April 3, Izvestia was told about this in the OneTwoTrip travel planning service.
The demand for trips abroad has increased among solo travelers: the share of foreign orders increased by 11% over the year and reached 51%. The remaining 49% will be vacationing in the country.
Tourists who prefer to relax without company, most often choose apartments, guest houses and other accommodation facilities without stars for their May trips around Russia — they account for 35% of orders. The average duration of trips is 1-3 days (57% of bookings are made for this period).
The most popular destinations among tourists during this period were St. Petersburg (17.7%) and Moscow (16.6%). Sochi is on the third line (6.8%). Kazan (5.5%), Kaliningrad (5.1%), Nizhny Novgorod (3.9%), Yaroslavl (2.2%), Vladivostok (2.0%), Volgograd (1.7%) and Mineralnye Vody (1.4%) were also popular for relaxing alone.
In other countries, Russians traveling alone most often choose four-star hotels (33% of bookings), and travel abroad for 4-7 days (37%).
Istanbul turned out to be the most popular foreign destination for solo trips over the May weekend — 7.4% of Russians chose it. Paris is in second place with 3.8%, followed by Rome (3.5%) and Milan (3.0%).
Tashkent (2.7%), Minsk (2.6%), Dubai (2.5%), Yerevan (2.2%), Seoul (2.0%) and Beijing (1.9%) are also among the top 10 popular destinations.
Earlier, on March 31, OneTwoTrip, a travel planning service, named Izvestia the most expensive hotel bookings that travelers made in the first month of spring. It turned out that a record amount of money was spent on a vacation in March by a company of four travelers who spent 10 days in a five-star hotel in Dubai. They paid 2,050,000 rubles.
