Putin instructed to introduce ideas on a special appeal for graduates of the profession

Following a meeting of the Presidential Council on Science and Education, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to provide college graduates with a special procedure for military service.

"To prepare <...> and make proposals to provide graduates who have mastered the educational programs of secondary vocational education, including those who have completed training within the framework of the federal project "Professionalism", with the possibility of a special procedure for military service in order to preserve and develop their professional competencies," the list of instructions published on the website says. It is noted that the relevant initiative will also ensure the connection of graduates with employers.

The relevant order will be executed by the Government of the Russian Federation jointly with the Ministry of Defense and the All-Russian public movement "People's Front for Russia". If necessary, amendments to the legislation are also envisaged.

The deadline for executing the order is July 1, 2026, and a preliminary report must be prepared by September 1 of this year.

This year's campaign starts on April 1, while the rules of conscription may change.

On March 31, Putin signed a decree on the spring conscription of Russian citizens between the ages of 18 and 30. According to the document, the conscription period is set from April 1 to July 15. It was noted that 160 thousand Russians are planned to be recruited.
