- The river with crocodiles was declared unsuitable for rowing at the Olympic Games in Australia

The International Canoe Federation (ICF) has deemed the Fitzroy River in the Australian state of Queensland unsuitable for competitions at the 2032 Olympics. This was announced by the organization on March 25.
"The Fitzroy River is not a place that has a proven reputation for hosting major international events," the ICF wrote on its website.
The ICF will continue to work with the Queensland government and other stakeholders to evaluate venue options, "ensuring that the best solution for the sprint races is found."
As specified by "Gazeta.Ru", this decision was influenced by the presence of crocodiles in the river and the unsuitability of the reservoir to accommodate a large number of participants in the Games.
Maxim Obraztsov, the head coach of the Russian national rowing slalom team, announced on January 17 that eight athletes had been granted neutral status. According to him, the athletes are currently at a training camp in Australia.
