The head of the PSB spoke about the role of banks in the new economy

Currently, banks have become an ecosystem for clients to solve a much wider range of issues than financing issues, says Peter Fradkov, Chairman of the PSB.

At the same time, according to him, the role of banks was to redistribute resources from foreign capital markets to Russia as an export-oriented country.

Speaking at the plenary session "The New Economy as a solution and as a challenge", held within the framework of the VII Financial Forum "Just Capital", Fradkov expressed the opinion that as the new economy develops, including against the background of the emergence of digital platforms, banks "are moving to a new stage of development, characterized by two counter trends: classical banks They are moving towards digital platforms, and digital platforms, primarily in the e-commerce segment, towards classic banks."

In addition, another feature of the new economy is that the defense industry has become a driver of structural changes. According to the head of the PSB, the necessary human, financial and institutional resources have been formed in Russia over the past few years to build a new economy.

The plenary session also discussed key areas of priority development of the new economy in the near future. The participants of the meeting discussed how the new economy functions and whether it can become an incentive for economic prosperity. In addition, the topic of new challenges that appear on the path of the state and business in the process of moving the country's economic policy along a new vector was raised.
