Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed to take measures to employ participants in a special military operation (SVO) who have experience in engineering and technology. This was announced by the Kremlin on April 1. The list of instructions following the meeting of the Presidential Council on Science and Education was published on the Kremlin's website on April 2.

"To develop and implement a set of measures to ensure employment at specialized enterprises of persons who participated (assisted in the performance of tasks) in a special military operation <...>, who have qualifications and experience in engineering, technology and technical sciences," the instruction says.

It is noted that the instruction is addressed to the government of the Russian Federation, and it will be implemented jointly with the State Fund for Support of Participants in the Defenders of the Fatherland NGO.

On December 6 last year, Putin instructed the government to develop an action plan by March 1, 2025, to increase the employment of ITS participants. He clarified that the government needs to consider holding a professional skills championship among ITS participants who are disabled starting next year, as well as identify sources of funding for such events.
