Le Pen is appealing her verdict to the Constitutional Council and the ECHR.

The chairman of the right-wing National Unification party, Marine Le Pen, intends to appeal to the Constitutional Council of France and the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) to appeal the verdict banning her from being elected to the authorities. She announced this on April 1 during an interview with Parisien.
"We are going to appeal to the Constitutional Council, raising the 'priority issue of constitutionality', the purpose of which is to rule on the incompatibility of the sentence of disenfranchisement with immediate execution and the freedom of voters enshrined in the Constitution," Le Pen informed.
She also noted that she wants to appeal to the ECHR, as she hopes that the launched French initiatives will allow the 2027 presidential elections to be held "under normal conditions."
"In politics, they never say never. But yes, I think it will be the last [election] if I am not elected [president]," Le Pen said.
Le Pen also commented on the statement by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. According to him, more and more European capitals are following the path of violating democratic norms, and they absolutely do not shy away from going beyond democracy during the political process.
"Put yourself in the place of the Kremlin, which is being taught democracy lessons in the morning, afternoon and evening. Then they tell themselves: there is a way to send a boomerang of their moral lesson right in their face. For the Kremlin, this is obviously a way to install [French President Emanuel] Macron is in a difficult position," she replied.
On April 1, the French authorities launched a new investigation into Marine Le Pen due to threats against judges. As the AFP news agency clarified, we are talking about the judges of the criminal court in Paris, who sentenced the politician to imprisonment and a ban on participating in elections in the case of embezzlement of European Parliament funds.
On March 31, a court in Paris found Le Pen guilty of embezzlement of European Parliament funds in the case of creating fictitious jobs, sentencing her to four years in prison, two of which are suspended, and the remaining two years are house arrest with wearing an electronic bracelet. In addition, she also lost the right to participate in the 2027 presidential election.
