ZMZ has started production of new gearboxes for UAZ and Sollers

The Sollers Transmission Manufacturing company has launched mass production of new manual transmissions for UAZ Profi and Sollers models. The Zavolzhsky Motor Plant (ZMZ) announced this in its Telegram channel on April 2.
The new 6-speed manual transmission will be equipped with Sollers ST6 and ST8 pickups with gasoline engines, as well as Sollers Atlant all-metal vans with a 1.9 liter diesel engine. The updated units will receive UAZ Profi semi-trucks with rear-axle drive and a diesel engine, which will begin rolling off the Ulyanovsk assembly line in April this year.
In the future, the production of such a transmission will be adjusted for UAZ Patriot SUVs with diesel engines, Izvestia previously reported.
Gearboxes will complement the current range of units available for Sollers Atlant modifications with 2.7-liter engines, diesel versions of Sollers Argo and ST6 and ST8 pickups.
The modified transmissions were the development of basic versions of gearboxes, the production of which was launched in the Trans-Volga region with the support of the Industrial Development Fund in February 2024. The total investment volume of the Sollers Group in the development program of the industrial site of the Zavolzhsky Motor Plant from 2023, including the development of production of power units, transmissions and the development of foundry projects, exceeded 2 billion rubles.
On March 27, it was reported that the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant will soon begin equipping cars of the new and old UAZ model ranges with engines of an improved design. The improved ZMZ 409th family engines will receive the Patriot, Pickup, Pro and Loaf models.
