Lavrov announced the invitation of the Secretary General of the Communist Party of Vietnam to Moscow for the 80th anniversary of Victory.

Russia has invited the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Toh Lam, to Moscow to celebrate Victory Day on May 9. This was announced on April 2 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

"The General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Comrade To Lam, has been invited to celebrate Victory Day," Lavrov said at the start of talks with Vietnamese Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son in Moscow.

He noted that Russia would be glad to see the Vietnamese leader at these solemn events.

On March 29, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva confirmed that he plans to come to Moscow to celebrate Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War. He also noted that during his visit he plans to hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
