- The Prosecutor General announced the initiation of more than 6 thousand cases against militants and mercenaries of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

All the facts of the use of prohibited means of conflict by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and mercenaries are being legally assessed, and more than 6,000 criminal cases have been initiated. This was announced on April 2 by Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov in the Federation Council.
"Currently, more than 6 thousand criminal cases have been initiated and are being investigated against more than 200 thousand people. Both former and current members of the top military and political leadership of the Ukrainian regime are being charged," he said.
Krasnov clarified that among the defendants are such persons as Kirill Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (included in the list of terrorists and extremists in the Russian Federation), as well as former chairman of the Ukrainian Security Service Valentin Nalyvaichenko and others.
In addition, the Prosecutor General stressed that special attention was paid to the task set by Russian President Vladimir Putin to identify and bring to justice all those who invaded the Kursk region.
On April 1, the Second Western District Military Court sentenced four Ukrainian militants for terrorist activities in the Kursk region. They set up firing positions in the forest plantation, mined the road, and also monitored the area, transmitting information about the actions of the Russian military, and intimidated the civilian population, preventing their evacuation. As a result, the court sentenced the defendants from 14 to 15 years in prison.
