Priorities for the development of the transport complex have been approved in Moscow

Moscow has approved priorities for the development of the transport complex for this year, said Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

Thus, it is planned to hold the third and final stage of the launch of Russia's first unmanned tram in the capital. In addition, preparations will be made for the launch of the first unmanned metro train at BKL.

Also among the priorities is the introduction of biometric fare payment at the stations of the Moscow Ring Road, at all turnstiles of the metro and in urban land transport.

Back in 2025, the renewal of rolling stock will be completed at the MCD, the process will begin on the Yaroslavl direction of the Moscow Railway. Work at Leningradsky Railway Station will be completed, but plans include the construction and reconstruction of seven city stations.

This year, 272 Moscow-2024 railcars, about 650 electric buses, 50 trams and more than 30 Ivolga trains are expected to be delivered. The train fleet on the Zamoskvoretskaya line will be updated by 50%.

Sobyanin added that one of the priorities would be to include at least 30% of suburban land transport routes in the Moscow transport system. In addition, it is planned to start production of a full cycle of electric river vessels at the shipyard in Nagatinsky backwater and launch the third regular river transport route on the Moskva River, Novospassky — ZIL.
