Zakharova pointed to Kiev's underestimation of Trump's awareness
The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are carrying out attacks on Russian facilities, without taking into account the awareness of the team of US President Donald Trump. This was announced on April 2 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
"Perhaps, believing that, like the previous US president [Joe Biden], and this one, it is possible to present some kind of distorted picture. That he, like the former president, will not understand something," she said on Sputnik Radio.
Zakharova also suggested that Trump would only be shown Russia's reaction to the actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, without mentioning who started the conflict.
According to the diplomat, in this way, Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky shows disrespect for the US president and the White House administration. In addition, it does not take into account the level of Washington's awareness of world events.
During the talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the American leader on March 18, the head of the Russian Federation supported the idea of mutual refusal of Moscow and Kiev from attacks on energy infrastructure and gave the appropriate order to Russian structures.
However, on the same day, after Zelensky's public consent to suspend strikes on Russian energy infrastructure facilities, the Ukrainian Armed Forces violated the agreement and attacked an energy facility in the village of Kavkazskaya in the Krasnodar Territory. A few days later, on March 21, the Sudzha gas measuring station (GIS) in the Kursk region was attacked.
In addition, on March 31, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that the Ukrainian Armed Forces continued attacks on Russian energy facilities, despite Kiev's statements. In particular, objects in the Bryansk region were hit.
