Roskomnadzor warned about calls from fraudsters on behalf of the agency

Roskomnadzor told about a new scheme of scammers who, under the guise of department employees, are trying to get personal data of Russians. Information about this appeared on April 2 in the Telegram channel of the department.
"The scammers pose as Roskomnadzor employees and inform citizens that their personal account on the Public Services portal has been hacked. An SNILS number is required to unlock it," the message says.
The department noted that the calls come from numbers that do not belong to Roskomnadzor employees, as well as through the WhatsApp messenger (owned by Meta Corporation, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
It is emphasized that government agencies do not use messengers for calls and never request personal data.
On March 27, the Interior Ministry warned about a new fraud scheme through house chats. Intruders, disguised as tenants, place ads in chat rooms that hide phishing links that steal personal data.
