US military personnel who sank in an armored vehicle in a swamp during exercises in Lithuania were sent to evacuate another vehicle. This was reported on April 1 by The New York Times, referring to the military.

"They were sent to pull out another army vehicle. But the soldiers may have driven off the road and landed in a deep swamp, and were apparently trapped inside," the article says.

The newspaper writes that at the moment the US Army is conducting an investigation to determine all the causes of the accident.

The Lrytas portal reported on the deaths of four missing American servicemen on March 26. The next day, a sunken M88 Hercules armored recovery vehicle (BREM) was found in the swamp.

On March 31, the Lithuanian Prosecutor General's Office launched a preliminary investigation into the deaths of four American soldiers. On the same day, the bodies of three U.S. soldiers were found. Their identities were also not disclosed. Later, the body of the fourth soldier was found.
