At least 17 people have been killed in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since early morning. This was reported on April 2 by Al Jazeera TV channel, citing medical sources.

"The death toll from Israel's relentless bombing of the Gaza Strip has risen to at least 17 people since early morning," the publication says.

Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz said the military would expand its ground offensive on Gaza and "capture a vast territory."

According to local authorities, the death toll has risen to 61,709 people as a result of the conflict. They also included thousands of people who have gone missing. It clarifies that the bodies of 76% of Palestinians have been recovered and taken to medical centers, at least 14,222 people are under rubble or in areas inaccessible to rescuers.

On March 18, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the resumption of military operations against the Palestinian Hamas movement in Gaza. As a result of the Israeli airstrikes, more than 1,000 people were injured, and the death toll increased to 310. The media also said that Israel had warned the administration of US President Donald Trump in advance about the resumption of attacks on Gaza.
