Two organizers of illegal migration were detained in Irkutsk region

In the Irkutsk region, two women suspected of organizing the illegal residence of more than 230 foreign citizens in the region were detained through the joint efforts of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB. This was announced on Wednesday, April 2, by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
"It was previously established that a local businesswoman, with the assistance of her friend, concluded fictitious employment contracts with foreigners for a monetary reward. In the future, the documents were transferred to the migration departments for the client to obtain legal status," she explained.
During the operational search activities, with the support of the Rosgvardiya fighters, searches were conducted in the suspects' living quarters. As a result, documents and material evidence important to the investigation were found and seized.
The territorial investigative body has opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organization of illegal migration"). The maximum penalty under this article is up to 10 years in prison. In relation to one of the detainees, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave, the other — an obligation to appear.
Earlier, on March 5, it was reported that employees of the Russian FSB directorate for the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), as well as the regional directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Rosgvardiya in Mariupol, stopped the illegal migration channel to the territory of the republic.
