- The warships conducted exercises and honed their shooting at targets in the Caspian Sea

Warships in the Caspian Sea conducted exercises, during which they practiced anti-aircraft and artillery firing at sea and air targets. This was announced on Wednesday, April 2, by the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
"As part of a planned exercise with groups of forces of the Caspian Flotilla, the small missile ships Uglich, Veliky Ustyug, Grad Sviyazhsk, Tucha, Amur and the missile ship Tatarstan sailed into the Caspian Sea to perform combat training tasks," the ministry's publication says.
It is specified that the vessels fired from 76.2mm AK-176 naval artillery installations at the sea shield, simulating a surface enemy ship.
In addition, the warships practiced the organization of protection and defense of ships while parked in an unprotected raid and carried out grenade launchers from a DP-64 hand-held anti-sabotage grenade launcher.
Prior to that, on March 31, the Pacific Fleet reported that the flagship of the Pacific Fleet, the Russian Guards missile cruiser of the Nakhimov Order Varyag, conducted military exercises in the waters of the Sea of Japan.
