Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic spoke about the decisive role of the Serbs in the liberation of their country during World War II, noting the "limited assistance" from the USSR. He made the corresponding statement on April 2 in an interview with blogger Mario Naufalu.

"Yes, we received help from the Red Army, but mostly it was our army. The assistance was limited," he said.

Earlier in the same interview, Vucic explained his 2021 guess about the imminent conflict in Ukraine.

On March 22, Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy head of the Presidential Administration, announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Vucic would hold talks in Moscow on May 9. The deputy head of the Russian leader's administration noted that in the context of bilateral economic relations, "there are many important issues." In addition, the heads of state will discuss new areas of cooperation, Oreshkin stressed.
