Vucic explained his guess of 2021 about the imminent conflict in Ukraine

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic told how, after a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2021, he managed to understand about the imminent outbreak of a military conflict in Ukraine. He announced this in an interview with blogger Mario Naufalu on April 1.
"The last time we met [with Putin] was in 2021, on November 25 in Sochi. After that, when I left his office, I publicly stated that I expected very difficult times, including war times. No one believed me," the Serbian leader said.
According to him, such words were not based on anything, and were "just a guess."
"I was asked if Putin had said anything to me. No, he didn't tell me anything at the time. And precisely because he didn't tell me anything, I knew this was going to happen. Because 19, 18 times before, at our meetings, we always talked about the situation in Ukraine and in the Soviet region as a whole. It was the first time he didn't mention this topic," Vucic explained.
On March 22, Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy head of the presidential Administration, announced that Putin and Vucic would hold talks in Moscow on May 9. The deputy head of the Russian leader's administration noted that in the context of bilateral economic relations, "there are many important issues." In addition, the heads of state will discuss new areas of cooperation, Oreshkin stressed.
