The French Court of Appeal has given at least a year to review Le Pen's case.

The Paris Court of Appeal will be able to issue a decision on the appeals filed by Marine Le Pen, chairman of the right-wing National Unification party, against the verdict only in the summer of 2026. This was announced on April 1 by BFMTV.
At the moment, three appeals are pending in the Paris court after Le Pen's conviction. As the first chairman of the Court of Cassation and Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary, Christophe Soulard, noted, "it is very good" that the decision of the Court of Appeal may appear only in the summer of 2026. Thus, the French justice system will be able to "adapt" the situation when it is "aware of all the problems" of the case.
"The judicial institution will be able to adapt the timing of the decision on a certain number of issues," he said.
Thus, the second court hearing in the Le Pen case will be held no later than the beginning of 2026, and the decision will be made long before the next French presidential election in April 2027.
On April 1, French authorities launched a new investigation into Marine Le Pen due to threats against judges. As the AFP news agency clarified, we are talking about the judges of the criminal court in Paris, who sentenced the politician to imprisonment and a ban on participating in elections in the case of embezzlement of European Parliament funds.
On March 31, a court in Paris found Le Pen guilty of embezzlement of European Parliament funds in the case of creating fictitious jobs, sentencing her to four years in prison, two of which are suspended, and the remaining two years are house arrest with wearing an electronic bracelet. In addition, she also lost the right to participate in the 2027 presidential election.
Subsequently, the politician called the case against herself the nuclear bomb of Paris, designed to prevent the victory of her party. She said that the authorities are manipulating the judges to determine for themselves who the French can vote for.
