On April 2, Russia will hold an informal meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UN) "according to the Arria formula" to discuss the crimes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced by Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations.

"The topic is the three—year anniversary of the provocation in Bucha [Kiev region] and new data on crimes committed by Ukronazis in the occupied areas of the Kursk region," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

The diplomat also recalled that in 2022, the Russian side tried to convene an urgent meeting of the Security Council to discuss the events in Bucha, but then the British presidency blocked the proposal in order to cover up the traces of provocation.

"Against this background, based on facts and witness testimony, we will tell you about the real crimes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region, more and more information about which is emerging as these territories are liberated," Polyansky added.

Earlier, on March 27, UN Assistant Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs Joyce Msuya said that the organization was concerned about the deaths of civilians in the border regions of Russia. She recalled that indiscriminate attacks capable of hitting civilians and facilities are "strictly prohibited" by humanitarian law.
