Deputy Ostanina spoke about the textbook on "Family Studies"
The new textbook on the Family Studies course for secondary schools has been highly appreciated by the expert community. Nina Ostanina, one of the authors of the manual and head of the State Duma Committee for Family Protection, told Izvestia on April 1.
"It is written in such a lively language, while suggesting <...> dialog form, questions for children, links, QR codes on what to read, what films to watch. <...> In other words, the expert community gave a very high rating to this course," she said.
The deputy said that the course involves two separate manuals for grades 5-7 and 8-9. Both books have the same sections, but they are written in different languages, taking into account the age characteristics of schoolchildren.
"The five chapters [of the textbook] completely repeat the program that is now proposed by the Ministry of Education for both elementary and high schools," Ostanina stressed.
The textbook on "Family Studies" caused a public outcry due to the participation in its creation of an adherent of the esoteric theory of rodology. Earlier in the day, Maria Maryasova, chairman of the committee on work with influencers of the New People faction, announced that the manual had been sent for revision. At the same time, the textbook, according to her, will be improved by the same authors, including supporters of esotericism.
