The widow of the military commander of Izvestia, Yeremin, joined the Public Council of Heroes of the Moscow Region

Victoria Eremina, the wife of the Izvestia military correspondent Semyon Yeremin, who died in the special military operation zone in Ukraine, joined the Public Council of the Heroes of the Moscow Region regional program. This was reported on April 1 on the website of the government of the Moscow region.

The council also includes military commanders of the Rossiya TV channel Alexander Sladkov and the NTV channel Alexey Ivliev, as well as singer Denis Maidanov. Andrey Vorobyov, Governor of the Moscow region, was elected Chairman of the Public Council of the Regional program.

"The purpose of the Heroes of the Moscow Region program is the socialization of children returning from their home zone. Our common task is to make them feel in demand," the government's press service quoted Maria Nagornaya, Vice Governor of the region, as saying.

Not only demobilized military personnel will be able to participate in the program, but also those who are still involved in military operations. The first stream of participants will start training on September 15, the course is designed for one year. The best ones will be offered employment or enrollment in the personnel reserve.

The program was launched in early March on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin. It became a continuation of the federal project "Time of Heroes".

The memorial appeared on the 43rd birthday of a journalist who died in Zaporizhia during an FPV drone attack.

Semyon Eremin died on April 19, 2024, while filming a report in a special operation zone during an FPV drone attack. After the second drop from the drone, the journalist was injured, and he later died. The military commander was 42 years old. On April 23 last year, Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded Yeremin the Order of Courage posthumously.
