A psychologist assessed the effect of laughter on the human psyche

Clinical psychologist Daria Salnikova on Tuesday, April 1, told how laughter affects the human psyche.
In an interview with Radio 1, the specialist pointed out that laughter helps to normalize blood pressure, expands the volume of the lungs, conducts oxygen into the body and has a positive effect on health.
Salnikova emphasized that laughter is the result of the ability to withstand stressful situations, to keep a balance of conflicts, interests and dissonances.
The psychologist emphasized the importance of being able to respond correctly to external irritating situations.
"When people laugh, they show their self—improvement, their ability to cope with difficulties, their ability to continue an ordinary life — that is, their psychological unbrokenness," the psychologist emphasized.
According to her, jokes help resolve conflicts, and infection with a smile leads to a good mood. She explained that facial expressions contain many nerve endings, and smiling and laughing activate these receptors and work better.
Earlier in the day, psychologist, professor of MGPPU Elena Chebotareva in an interview with the website kp.ru She expressed the opinion that a sense of humor is related to life expectancy. In April 2022, Artyom Pavlov said that a person's psychotype can be determined by his manner of laughing. For example, people who rarely laugh and only smile modestly do not express their emotions well and sometimes do not understand why it is necessary. Those who laugh openly and loudly, attracting attention to themselves, belong to the demonstrative psychotype, NSN reports.
Earlier, psychologist Irina Sedova, in an interview with Moscow 24, pointed out the benefits of laughter. According to her, laughter helps not only to distract, but also changes the human condition in general. Laughter also helps the body produce endorphins, the hormone of joy.
