The body of a fourth American serviceman who disappeared during an exercise has been found in Lithuania. This was announced on April 1 on the website of the US Army Command in Europe and Africa.

The soldier was assigned to the combat group of the 1st Armored Brigade of the 3rd Infantry Division. His body was found near the Lithuanian town of Pabrade. The identity of the soldier was not disclosed.

The commander of the American army in Europe and Africa, General Christopher Donahue, expressed his condolences over the death of the soldier.

"I cannot express in words enough the support that our Lithuanian allies have given us. We relied on them, and they, along with our Polish and Estonian allies — and our own sailors, pilots, and specialists from the Corps of Engineers — allowed us to find and bring home our soldiers," he added.

The Lrytas portal reported on the deaths of four missing American servicemen on March 26. The next day, a sunken M88 Hercules armored recovery vehicle (BREM) was found in the swamp.

On March 31, the Lithuanian Prosecutor General's Office launched a preliminary investigation into the deaths of four American soldiers. On the same day, the bodies of three U.S. soldiers were found. Their identities were also not disclosed.
