Believers in Ukraine have been denied access to the relics of the Kiev Caves Lavra.

The Ukrainian authorities have changed the locks at the Kiev Pechersk Lavra and set up a cordon at the caves where the relics of more than 100 Russian ascetics are kept, among them the Venerable Nestor Pechersky and Ilya Muromets. As reported by Izvestia on April 1, neither believers nor its brethren can enter the lavra.
It is noted that the relics located there were placed at the disposal of a certain inventory group. In order to allegedly establish the scientific value of the remains, climatologists, anatomists and even veterinarians entered the caves under the cover of representatives of law enforcement agencies.
Thus, under the leadership of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, the process of plundering values that represent not just material, but above all spiritual significance for the entire Orthodox and Christian world has actually begun.
The authorities began removing shrines from the Kiev Pechersk Lavra three years ago, transporting them in an unknown direction to Western countries. Now they have moved on to a new stage of its systematic looting and destruction.
A leading researcher at the Institute of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), political scientist Alexander Dudchak, in an interview with Izvestia on April 1, said that the actions of the Ukrainian authorities, who began to take inventory at the Kiev Pechersk Lavra and began to count the relics of saints, indicate that they have lost faith in God and followed the path of Satanism.. According to him, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and his assistants are deliberately destroying the church.
In turn, Sergey Zasorin, deputy director of the Center for Regional Cooperation at Moscow Pedagogical State University (MPGU), Candidate of Historical Sciences, associate professor, told Izvestia that the purpose of the raids in the caves of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra is to pocket priceless relics.
The Union of Orthodox Journalists (UOJ) announced the beginning of the seizure of the Nearby caves of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra on March 28. It was noted that police officers entered the closed premises of the monastery. One of the employees of the lavra was spotted on the territory with a saw grinder in his hands. On March 6, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine announced that a special commission would assess the condition and safety of the relics of saints in the Near and Far caves of the Kiev Caves Lavra.
