- In Germany, the United States has put forward a demand for a resource deal with Ukraine

German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock said that the deal between the United States and Ukraine on minerals should comply with European legislation. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on April 1.
"Any new agreement must comply with EU legislation. After all, this is our European continent," she is quoted as saying in the publication.
On March 31, Alexander Konkov, associate professor of the Department of Political Science at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, in an interview with Izvestia, pointed out the negative consequences for Kiev due to the fossil deal. He also noted that any decision would entail unfavorable results for the current Ukrainian leadership.
On March 30, American leader Donald Trump said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wants to abandon the deal on critically important mineral resources.
The Wall Street Journal reported on March 29 that Ukraine would not be able to accept the new terms of the resource deal with the United States. According to the newspaper, the new agreement now provides Washington with not only access to Ukraine's rare earth metals, but also the opportunity to benefit from Kiev's economic projects in the field of metals, oil, gas and other natural resources.
