Law enforcement agencies have opened a criminal case against a 40-year-old resident of Moscow who threw his cat from the fourth floor. This was announced on April 1 by the Moscow prosecutor's office.

The man was charged under paragraph "g", part 2, Article 245 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (cruelty to an animal with a public demonstration).

"By the decision of the Ostankino interdistrict prosecutor's office, the criminal case was withdrawn from the body of inquiry and transferred for a preliminary investigation," the department's Telegram channel said.

According to the prosecutor's office, at about 00:30 on March 30, the accused, out of hooligan motives, threw the animal out of the window of his apartment on 2nd Maryina Roscha Street. The man filmed his actions and posted them on a social network.

The supervisory authority added that the Muscovite admitted his guilt in the criminal case.

Prior to this, it was reported that the attacker explained his act by saying that he was tired of taking care of the pet and spending money on its maintenance. The cat was taken in by a caring girl who will take care of his treatment after a fall.
