A Dutch court has arrested a Ukrainian citizen who attacked passers-by with a knife in Amsterdam for 14 days on charges of terrorist-motivated assault. This was announced on April 1 by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Netherlands.

"The man is suspected of five attempted murders or manslaughter with terrorist intent," the agency's website says.

The suspect is being held in solitary confinement, he is allowed to communicate only with a lawyer. The investigation of the incident is still ongoing.

"Of the five injured in the knife attack, four are still in the hospital. Their condition is stable," the prosecutor's office added.

The incident occurred on Sint Nicolaasstraat in Amsterdam on March 27, and there were no fatalities in the attack. The attacker was disarmed by a British tourist, and he was later handed over to police officers.
