Ending the conflict with Russia is Ukraine's main national interest. This was announced on April 1 by the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the country Artem Dmytruk in the Telegram channel.

"The main national interest of Ukraine and the main task are <...> the restoration and strengthening of relations with the Russian Federation! Of course, I am convinced of the need for a more global unity for the sake of a future life, but this is a common part of this particular component stage," Dmytruk wrote.

He added that direct and transparent relations with Russia would be a real guarantee of security for the country. According to him, such cooperation guarantees Ukraine peace, as well as collective development and participation in the global economy.

"And of course, Ukraine will never be the same again, and perhaps this will be the salvation for future generations," the Verkhovna Rada deputy summed up.

On March 31, US President Donald Trump said he wanted Russia's consent to conclude a deal to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. He added that he would not like to impose secondary duties against Russia, but is ready to take such a step if there is no progress on the settlement.

The day before, it was reported that the American leader announced his intention to hold a new conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the near future.

On March 25, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that European countries immediately changed their position on the inadmissibility of a truce after Kiev's statements about agreeing to a 30-day cease-fire. He also drew attention to the fact that Europe intends to "undermine" the role of the United States in resolving the Ukrainian conflict, and also does not want to eliminate its root causes.
