The State Duma spoke about improving relations with Finland

Russia is interested in improving relations with Finland. This opinion was expressed by State Duma deputy Alexei Chepa on Tuesday, April 1, responding to the call of Finnish President Alexander Stubb to prepare for the resumption of relations with the Russian Federation.
"Despite the fact that we have been hearing a lot of Russophobic statements from Stubb lately, even he understands that there will be a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine anyway, and Europe's plans in this regard are not being implemented. For this reason, he begins to say in advance that Finland will have to build and resume relations with our country," the politician said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .
The parliamentarian stressed that Russia is not interested in escalating tensions and inciting hatred between the two countries. Chepa also noted that maintaining current trends in relations will only lead to a new arms race, and Russia is not interested in this.
"Because if the Finns join NATO and start actively arming themselves, we will have to resist this, and we don't need it. Any peace is better than war," the politician concluded.
Earlier in the day, Finnish President Alexander Stubb said that the country should prepare for the restoration of relations with Russia, reports NSN. According to the Finnish leader, it is impossible to deny the fact that Russia is Finland's neighbor and always will be, RT reports. He also stressed that the restoration of Russian-Finnish relations would depend on the end of the conflict in Ukraine. 360.ru .
