The works of Vladimir Volk, a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR and the Russian Federation, an artist, sculptor and novelist, can be seen as part of the 6th edition of the Art Russia Contemporary Art Fair, which will be held from April 3-6 in Gostiny Dvor in Moscow.

The exhibition with the artist's works will be presented in the area of the promo pavilion "Art Russia. Classic. A New Look", dedicated to the academic art fair. The new pavilion will also feature more than 20 paintings and graphic works dedicated to Moscow, the Wolf's hometown.

"Over the years, the Wolf's artistic understanding has been exposed to places that he loved, knew well, where he lived or often visited. <...> In them, along with a deeply respectful attitude to nature, the artist's desire to discover the past of his country, about which only vague information reaches his contemporaries, the desire to restore the connection of time."- noted art critic Elena Romanova.

According to Elizaveta Frolova, the curator of the project and co-founder of the Art Russia fair, Russia has one of the strongest schools of academic art, which is famous for talented authors.

"Our mission is to continue to nurture the masters of the academic field. We strive to provide them with the opportunity to fully exhibit their work at major events, receive feedback and attract new collectors," she shared.

Frolova stressed that the academic art fair will promote the development of artistic traditions and bring together talents from different regions of the country.

The artist's daughter, the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry, journalist and writer Irina Volk, will also take part in the opening of the project with the author's works.

Art Russia is Russia's largest contemporary art fair and international art forum, founded in 2020 by the Synergy Corporation. The events annually bring together gallery owners and independent artists, collectors and art market experts. In six years, 134 galleries and 741 artists were represented at the fair. The number of visitors for the five editions of the fair was about 150 thousand people, and the total amount of sales was more than 500 million rubles.

Earlier, on March 27, it was reported that the works of 29 Iranian artists will be presented at the Art Russia fair. The exposition of the Persian Section includes three stands, each of which reveals important trends in contemporary Iranian art. The collection includes paintings, graphics, and mixed media.
