The Russian TV premiere of the movie "Raven" will take place on the REN TV channel

The new fantasy action thriller is a remake of the 1994 cult film and an adaptation of the famous graphic novel by James O'Barr.

In the new film, rock musician Eric Draven, who returns from the dead to avenge the death of his beloved, was played by Bill Skarsgard ("It", "John Wick 4", "Castle Rock"). Eric will stop at nothing to settle scores with the killers. From now on, he is a Raven, hungry for justice, and his revenge will be as cruel as ever. The role of the main character's lover was played by British singer FKA Twigs (Talia Barnett).

Director Rupert Sanders ("Ghost in the Shell") has reinterpreted the plot of the original 1994 film starring Brandon Lee. As you know, Brandon Lee (the son of the legendary Bruce Lee) died on the set of that movie. The actor was fatally shot in the stomach during the filming of a scene in which his character was shot with a pistol. Out of respect for Brandon Lee and in memory of that tragedy, the creators of the new film forbade the use of real weapons on the set.

According to director Rupert Sanders, he shot "a dark love story about loss, grief and passing through an intangible veil between life and death." In the new version of the film, the lovers' story before the tragedy is given more screen time, which will allow viewers to feel Eric's emotions and better understand the motives of the hero's revenge.

The director explained the choice of the performer of the title role by saying that Bill Skarsgard has an amazing "disturbing beauty" that allows his character, who has lost his beloved, to transform into someone who "must be careful not to become a monster."

Filming took place among the sights of Prague (Czech Republic), including the Rudolfinum concert hall on the central square.
