On April 1, Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with the permanent members of the Russian Security Council additional measures to combat the terrorist threat in the country. The meeting was held via videoconference.

"The issue [of measures against terrorism] is very important, no additional comments are needed here," the head of state noted.

Alexander Bortnikov, Head of the Federal Security Service (FSB), spoke as a speaker at the meeting.

In addition to discussing the situation in the fight against terrorism, the meeting also touched upon the issue of the implementation of agreements on the mutual refusal of Moscow and Kiev from attacks on energy facilities in the framework of the conflict in Ukraine. The president asked Defense Minister Andrei Belousov to report on this topic.

Earlier, on March 19, during an expanded meeting of the board of the Prosecutor General's Office, Putin called for a resolute fight against extremism and terrorism in Russia. The Head of State pointed out the need to increase the security of industrial facilities and transport infrastructure, as well as places of mass residence of people.
