- Mishustin stated that Russia's leadership in the energy markets remains despite the sanctions

Russia retains its leading position in the global energy markets, despite the effect of Western sanctions. This was announced on April 1 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, discussing with the government plans for the development of the oil and coal industries.
"These are the most important sectors of the Russian economy, which are of key importance for the sustainable operation of enterprises and ensuring the quality of life of citizens. Despite the sanctions, Russia retains its leading position in the global energy markets," Mishustin said.
Currently, the country is actively expanding logistics routes in the directions of friendly states. At the same time, Russia's own needs are being reliably met, he noted.
The Government intends to continue to support the coal industry. The plans are to increase the carrying capacity of the Eastern Railway Landfill and the volume of traffic through it, accelerate the production of powerful locomotives and innovative, more lifting wagons.
"We need to consider in detail additional mechanisms that will ensure the steady development of Kuzbass and our other coal—mining regions," Mishustin outlined the goals.
On March 26, Mishustin also noted that Western anti-Russian sanctions had failed to harm Russia's position in the global energy market. According to him, Russia has been able to independently master a number of sanctioned technologies related to oil and gas production and processing. The role of domestic technology in the electric power industry is also high — the share of Russian equipment in modern substations and transmission lines has already exceeded 90%, the politician said.
Earlier, on March 18, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russian entrepreneurs had successfully adapted to the Western sanctions mechanisms by creating alternative ways of interacting with foreign partners. The Head of state called the restrictions an additional catalyst for positive changes in the Russian economy.
