Faced with external aggression from NATO, Russia has significantly improved the characteristics of its sought-after weapons over the past three years. This was announced on April 1 by Sergey Naryshkin, Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR).
"Over the past three years, our country, faced with external aggression from the countries of the odious NATO bloc, has managed not only to expand the production of sought—after weapons, but also to significantly improve their characteristics," Naryshkin said at a round table dedicated to the contribution of scientists to the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
He specified that the successes in the development of domestic unmanned aircraft systems, robotic complexes and new materials will be used in the civilian sectors of the Russian economy after the completion of the special military operation and victory.
Earlier, on February 18, the Russian Ministry of Defense created a new system of innovative research, development and implementation of the created samples of weapons, military and special equipment based on their results. The new project was named "Voentech" (Military Technology Initiative). One of the key objectives of the project is to train specialists and introduce new products to the troops.
In May 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the head of the Russian Defense Ministry, Andrei Belousov, should open the department to innovation and constructive work with scientists and manufacturers of military equipment.
