Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed Lieutenant General Vyacheslav Butko as Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of Russia. The relevant decree of the head of state was published on April 1 on the official Internet portal of legal information.

"Appoint Vyacheslav Sergeevich Butko, Lieutenant General of the Internal Service, as Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Disaster Management, relieving him of his post," the document says.
