A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. It is noted that units of the Vostok group of forces liberated the Razliv settlement in the DPR, units of the Dnepr group of forces occupied more advantageous positions, and units of the Southern group of forces defeated formations of three mechanized, mountain assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a special purpose brigade in areas of several settlements.

"Operational-tactical aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery of groups of troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have defeated ammunition depots and production sites for explosives, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 142 districts," the Defense Ministry said.

The ministry added that 67 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down by air defense systems.

Since the beginning of the special military operation, 660 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 49,247 unmanned aerial vehicles, 601 anti-aircraft missile systems, 22,622 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,533 multiple rocket launchers, 23,152 field artillery and mortars, 33,572 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
